Here’s one myth that has had a lot of staying power even though it is so absurd as to be laughable: you can tell the tide by looking at a cat’s eyes—the pupils are narrow at low tide, wide at high tide.
Didn’t anyone happen to notice that if a cat is indoors or in a shady spot, his pupils are wide, but the pupils will narrow immediately if the cat steps into sunlight?
