There are lots of myths connecting cats to death, particularly impending death. A bit of old Italian folk wisdom holds seeing two cats fighting means imminent death for the
person who sees them (or someone dear to the person who sees them). The two cats are believed to represent a good
angel and a bad angel (
demon, that is) fighting over the soul of the person who is about to die.
